Senior SQL Database Administrator

We are looking to hire an **Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) **with **Sybase **experience to support our client in Singapore which is a top **global investment bank **.
**Responsibilities**:
The APAC SQL Server and Sybase Database Team is part of the wider Application & Database Services (ADS) Organization that spans the globe. We have on site personnel in all 3 regions, AMRS, EMEA and APAC, supporting all Lines of Business within the Bank. As part of the global organization, design, build and operationally support Microsoft SQL Server Instances Administrations on Microsoft Windows Servers and small number of Sybase data servers and replication servers administration on Linux Physical and Virtual machines. As part of this role, you will get to work on and gain exposure to the following:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016 and 2019 Instances and Databases
- Sybase Data server and Replication server v16.x running on RHEL 7/8/9
- Microsoft SQL Server Components such as Database Engine (SSDS), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS)
- Microsoft SQL Servers using Physical and Virtual Machines hosted on Microsoft Windows Servers (2008/2012/2016)
- Microsoft SQL Server technologies such as SQL Alwayson (AG), Database Mirroring, Transaction Log Shipping, SQL Server Replication and Windows Standalone\Clustering using Storage-level replication.
- Troubleshooting, Database performance and tuning, Availability monitoring using Quest Foglight
- Creation, maintenance, monitoring and implementation of SQL Server and Sybase Databases routines such as Database Integrity checks, Rebuild and Reorganize index, Update Statistics, Database backup and restore operation.
- Implement Microsoft SQL Server Database features such as Compression, Encryption, Linked Servers, and Partitioning
**Requirements**:
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Instances, Database administration and SQL Server components such as Database engine (SSDS), Integration Services(SSIS), Reporting Services(SSRS) and Analysis Services(SSAS) running on Windows Standalone and Cluster servers
- Strong understanding and/or working experience of Microsoft SQL Server installation, upgrade, database setup and implementation of SQL Server technologies such as SQLAlwaysOn, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, SQL Replication and Windows Standalone\Clustering using Storage-level replication for High availability and Disaster recovery.
- Solid years of experience at least 5-8 years of Banking or Financial institution as SQL Server DBA Level 2 or 3 role
- Experience in SQL Server Instance upgrade from SQL Server lower version to latest version and Database migration from one SQL Server to another
- Strong knowledge in utilizing SQL Server monitoring and troubleshooting\performance tools such SQLCMD, SQL profiler, Database Import/Export, Database upgrade tool and SQL Server Management Studio
- Experience in addressing SQL database alerts/issues, capacity constraints and performance related items.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, identify tuning opportunities, implement improvement, and advise Production support\developer teams on root cause/analysis, SQL tuning and permanent solution.
- Experience on **_SYBASE Data Server and Replication administration _**and support will be a plus.
- Experience in MS Dos/Powershell scripting, T-SQL scripting and Linux shell/Perl scripting will be plus.
