About the role

Based in the Asia Pacific Eye Centre in Gleneagles Hospital, the Optometrist is responsible for performing eye examinations, giving advice on visual problems and providing primary visual care using specialist diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the overall practice and ensure clinic operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Operate specialist equipment for diagnosis and examinations of patient's eyes for signs of injury, diseases, abnormalities, defects in vision and problems with general health of the eyes.
  • Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
  • Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding vision and optical issues.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
  • Apply understanding of general principles of optometry and best practices for the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disorders and conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma/ Degree in Optometry or equivalent
  • Registered with Singapore Optometrists and Opticians Board
  • Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to patients of diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent customer service skills
