Chemical Technologist

Requirements:

This job requires candidates to have the following requirements before applying.

1. To hold a degree (min second class lower) in either physical chemistry/ chemistry/ advance chemistry/ applied chemistry/ materials science/ materials engineering/ any field related to chemistry

2. Strong knowledge in chemistry basics and able to write chemical equations at ease

3. Well versed in English and be able to read and write Mandarin, to liaise with clients who can converse in Mandarin only

Preferred Qualifications:

· Hold any chemical or related hazardous substance (HS) licences

· Hazmat licence or HTDP

Expected Duties:

He or she before be able to:

1) To have some knowledge in handling minimum one of the testing equipments such as AAS, ICP (OES), ICP (MS) and fire assay analysis.

2) Carry out research on upcoming projects, improving SOP in chemical testing methods.

3) Provide write up instruction manuals on proper chemical testing and processing procedures including , type of chemicals to be used, mixing times, operating temperatures as future SOP for chemical testing and assaying methods in an analytical approach.

4) Prepare compounds, reagents, and solutions used in laboratory procedures in a safe manner. To prepare new standards of Lab safety rules.

5) Preferred to have some knowledge in electrolysis and electro plating and comfortable in handing chemicals such as potassium cyanide or sodium cyanide.

6) Provide timely and regular technical and assay reports to describe yours methods and findings. To present these findings to customer, engineers, managing directors, directors and other colleagues whenever necessary.

7) To be able to travel occasionally offshore for very short trips on assay witnessing work or related duties

8) Participate in plant plating operations.

Working Environment:

Air conditioned general office and wet laboratory , non air-condition assay room and plant operations.
