[What the role is]

As an Aquaculture Technology Project Engineer for the Centre for Aquaculture Diagnostics and Vaccines (CADV), you will play a pivotal role in advancing our aquaculture capabilities into the aquatic species health domain by using and developing cutting-edge solutions to tackle disease problems in the aquaculture realm. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the health of aquatic species so as, to increase productivity and sustainability of aquaculture farms.

[What you will be working on]

  • Perform all the daily research work related to aquaculture project.
  • Design, plan and execute proposed project so as, to achieve desired deliverables within timelines.
  • Analyse and interpret project data and, provide project progress updates regularly inclusive of presenting the project findings.
  • Perform laboratory and expense record keeping, inventory and document management for traceability.
  • Perform maintenance of laboratory facility and equipment.
  • Support project team in performing consumable/equipment purchases, planning project logistics, or other related tasks to ensure smooth conduct of the entire project.
  • Serve as Project Manager for the project duration.

[What we are looking for]

  • Degree (BSc)/ Masters (MSc) or PhD in related discipline (eg. Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biomedical Engineering/ Aquaculture) is an advantage
  • Possess work experience of 1-2 years in aquaculture related business.
  • Good hands-on laboratory skills especially in microbiology, biochemical assays, and molecular biology techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction.
  • Knowledge/experience in fish feeding experiments would be an added advantage.
  • Keen interest in aquaculture research inclusive of autogenous vaccine development.
  • Other qualities that we are looking for:
