Job description:

Key Responsibilities Cargo Documentation & Verification

• Issue Pick Orders (POs) and direct consignees/agents to assigned truck docks.
• Verify consignees and clearing agents against Master Air Waybill (MAWB) or Letters of Authorization (LOA).
• Perform import clearance checks (licenses, permits, cargo clearance permits) and record necessary endorsements, permits, and approvals in compliance with customs/statutory regulations.
• Handle and process special cargo (valuables, perishable goods, human remains, live animals, explosives, bank endorsement cargo) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Validate exemption status for controlled/non-controlled shipments (e.g., CITES, CCP, NEA, AVA, permit exemptions).
• Ensure strict adherence to security, safety, and SATS compliance standards, including procedures for sensitive cargo such as Coffin Containing Corpse (CCC) permits and AVA animal inspections.

Payment Handling

• Review AWB/shipment remarks and apply charges (freight, storage, survey, ramp service, cancellation, etc.).
• Create and process Service Requests in COSYS+ for additional/miscellaneous charges.
• Manage payments strictly via approved modes (NETS, credit card, company cheque, Cashcard, PayNow, FAST); no cash accepted.
• Print and issue Schedule of Charges (SOC) and receipts, ensuring correct stamping and recordkeeping.
• Deposit cheques into designated drop boxes and reconcile settlement receipts daily.

Operational Processing

• Record and retain endorsed AWBs, indemnity forms, and supporting documents for audit/account collection.
• Escalate discrepancies (e.g., missing documents, clearance issues, improper handling) to the Duty Manager.
• Liaise with consignees and clearing agents for timely clearance and delivery.
• Maintain accurate communication with internal stakeholders (Duty Managers, apron staff, tracing units) to facilitate smooth cargo release.
• Promptly escalate non-compliance or irregularities for resolution.
