Job Description

  • Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends.
  • Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality, image etc.
  • Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already in the stores.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best outcome for all parties.
  • Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget.
  • Work closely with relevant internal and external parties on activities to build brand awareness and to drive sales for existing products.
  • Maintain trust and relationships with Japanese suppliers for better product assortment, costs and support for marketing programs.
  • Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to remain up-to-date with the market trends.

Job requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Business/Retail Management or its equivalent.
  • At least 2 years merchandising experience.
  • Possess good communication and negotiation skills.
