Job Overview

The Polymer Technologist / Polymer Development Engineer leads end‑to‑end formulation and compounding of high‑performance elastomers—primarily TPE, TPV, NBR, HNBR, FKM, and FFKM—for high precision and high performance components used in mission-critical industries such as Semiconductor, Aerospace, Energy, and Defence. The role involves hands‑on recipe development, horizon‑scanning of emerging polymer chemistries, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and qualify elastomer formulations to meet target properties.
  2. Conduct lab‑scale mixing, vulcanisation trials, and interpret rheological data.
  3. Plan and execute mechanical and analytical testing.
  4. Lead studies on materials using various analytical techniques.
  5. Benchmark global technology trends and assess their applicability.
  6. Generate scale‑up protocols and support production transfer.
  7. Drive cost‑reduction and performance‑enhancement projects.
  8. Maintain accurate records and present findings.
  9. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and EH&S standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Polymer Science, Rubber Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in elastomer formulation for industrial or automotive applications.
  • Proficiency with laboratory mixing, rheometry, physical-property testing, and analytical techniques.
  • Experience with statistical DOE, formulation software, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience transferring lab recipes to pilot or production scale.
