Field Application Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on product installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  2. Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to understand customer requirements and develop customized solutions.
  3. Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops to showcase solutions and capabilities.
  4. Assist sales staff in technical communications, product testing, and preparation of sample test reports.
  5. Communicate customer requirements to R&D teams and support in creating solution proposals.
  6. Support R&D teams in system adjustments, imaging system verification, and data updates.
  7. Gather customer feedback and market intelligence, including competitor and emerging technology insights, to contribute to product development and continuous improvement.
  8. Maintain detailed documentation of all technical support and customer interaction activities.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head or immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in field applications, technical support, or a similar role (experience with imaging or X-ray systems is a strong advantage).

  3. Technical Skills:

  4. Strong understanding of X-ray technology, image processing, detection systems, and related safety standards.

  5. Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., AELB guidelines in Malaysia, CE marking requirements).
  6. Proficiency in CAD software or relevant engineering tools is a plus.

  7. Soft Skills:

  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work closely with clients and cross-functional teams.

  9. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities for diagnosing technical issues.
  10. Ability to deliver clear technical explanations to non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Language: Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin (ability to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients is essential). Additional languages are an advantage.

  12. Other Requirements:

  13. Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.

  14. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer visits and training opportunities.
