Cybersecurity & Compliance Specialist

WhaTheByte is scaling fast. As we build platforms like Dash to Cart that serve thousands of creators and SMEs across Southeast Asia, security and trust are non-negotiable. We're looking for a Cybersecurity & Compliance Specialist to lead our efforts in keeping our infrastructure, user data, and digital assets secure.

You'll work directly with the CTO and product teams to implement best practices, prepare for audits (CSA, ISO), and drive a security-first culture across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards across the company
  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing for our platforms
  • Oversee access control, data protection protocols, and incident response plans
  • Ensure compliance with CSA Cyber Essentials Mark, PDPA, and ISO27001 where applicable
  • Manage security configurations for cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review and secure code, APIs, and integrations (e.g. Stripe, Meta, Google)
  • Train employees on cybersecurity awareness and IT acceptable use
  • Maintain security documentation, logs, audit trails, and registers
  • Lead and manage third-party security audits or assessments

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or information assurance
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, CSA Cyber Essentials)
  • Familiar with cloud-based environments (GCP, AWS, Azure) and SaaS security practices
  • Experience with endpoint protection, MFA, access logs, VPNs, and firewall policies
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Singapore's PDPA, MAS TRM, or related compliance standards
  • Security certifications are a plus (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+)
