**Position**
As one of the most exciting integrated resorts in the world Marina Bay Sands’ Brand is seen and felt through its on property experiences. In this newly created role, we are looking expand the creativity, engagement & impact of our signature moments.
We are looking for a curious, initiative, experienced and innovative apparel designer to support the property wide brand experience and programming at Marina Bay Sands. This position, reports directly to the Associate Director, Creative & Brand Experience and the wider creative team, helping to oversee and coordinate the designs, production & management of brand uniforms, festive wear and branded merchandise apparel.
**Job Scope**
- Be a great story teller in the conceptualizing & moodboard development of property apparel, consistently developing ideas for new & existing signatures.
- Designing sketches for new products & leading briefings with vendors/partners to ensure every brand design & expreission is building equity with our brand visions.
- Creating clothing patterns for bespoke & mass production.
- Testing and deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns & textures for each designs.
- To incorporate styling ideas while maintaining designs base on corporate signature standards.
- Organise the wardrobes and outfit designs for events & photoshoots when required.
- Work cross-fucntionally with marketing to maintain a consistent style & voice guide throughout all property.
- Drive & coordinate the identification of appropriate outside vendors and resources that deliver the highest quality fabrication & operational delivery to enhance internal processes.
- Overseeing the production of designs, including carrying out fittings, selecting fabrics and trims, overseeing the prototype sample process.
- Maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers & project accounts lead.
- Oversee the logistics of retail buying for interim property apparels.
- Provide strategic & production counsel to internal stakeholders and teams, liaising regularly with
account teams to anticipate business needs and deliver value-added interests.
- Act as a unifying force across the entire organization, working closely with the housekeeping, wardrobe, procurement & marketing, to translate apparel design ideas into effective & authentic branded signatures.
- Continuously maintains a drive for renewal, experimentation and carefully considered risks.
- Assist procurement to ensure fulfillment of critical requirements and duties, as assigned in the apparel engagement contract.
- Achieve a working knowledge of MBS business lines, assets, policies, operations, people and objectives, specifically as uniforms & apparel.
- Partner with internal business units, external stakeholders and sub-contractors to leverage best practices and industry standards to deliver the highest outcomes for uniforms & apparel.
- Help to continuously refine standards, process and procedures to insure continued development of the Creative & Brand Experiences Department.
- Assist the department to creative, uniforms & apparel’s specific goals, objectives and metrics consistent with the strategies of our Marketing Department.
**Competencies**
- Proficient knowledge of garment construction standards and engineering - the whole garment process from development to manufacturing.
- Excellent creativity with a good sense of fashion, style & color.
- In depth knowledge of garment technology.
- Ability to observe fashion/uniform trends, create, cut and design sew-up patterns.
- Clear story teller & understands how experience is evolving at the cutting edge of culture, luxury, hospitality, wellness, fashion, food, art & technology.
- Loves to instigate ideas, pitch your strategy and is an amazing storyteller who inspires others with excellent writing, verbal communication and presentation skills
- An obsessive attention to detail when it comes to enhancing property brand executions and understands the scale of operational delivery
- An ability to focus as well as multi-task, prone to see and seek solutions, not problems
- You are motivated to succeed as a team, not individual
- Results oriented and highly motivated
- Overseas factory visits periodically.
- Sound decision making and judgement
- Bias for action, able to work with independently with mínimal supervision
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
**Job Requirements**
- Experience: 6-8 years in apparel design & production with a key role in several Major Events
- Ideally has fashion industry experience & has a proven track record in apparel design exection.
- Ability to sketches concepts by hand.
- Education: Diploma / Degree holder in Creative field, Fashion or Design
- Work Environment: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule at event times including nights and weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrato
