[What the role is]

The Policy Planning Department (POPD) is responsible for the formulation of strategic policies related to environmental protection and public health.

[What you will be working on]

As Assistant Manager/ Manager/ Executive Manager/ Assistant Director in POPD, you will work closely in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, and be involved in the following:

- Formulate and review key policies and strategies to achieve Singapore’s environmental protection and public health objectives, taking into account factors such as global trends, technological developments, and research advancements.
- Support Senior Management to advance NEA’s strategic priorities, including aligning efforts across various Divisions and managing key inter-agency policy platforms.
- Coordinate preparation for Committee of Supply budget debates, replies to Parliamentary Questions, and legislative amendments.
- Participate in cross-departmental workgroups on environmental protection and public health issues.
- Other duties as assigned.

[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following:

- At least 1 - 2 years of experience in policy-making and/or environmental management and/or inter-agency work, would be preferred.
- Passion for environmental protection and adept at engaging both industry and public stakeholders.
- Adaptable and able to handle diverse work scopes.
- Highly self-motivated; resourceful, resilient and able to work under tight timelines.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous with an eye for detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge or experience with economic analysis/cost-benefit analysis would be an advantage.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
