**What you’ll do**

In this role, you will manage our existing quant compute/storage infrastructure and be responsible for the design, automation, and management of future infrastructure solutions to support our portfolio managers, back office, middle office, and other areas as they leverage our large-scale research environment. Specifically, you will:

- Design and manage a variety of quant research platforms
- Research and experiment with new centralized multi-tenant clustered platforms
- Troubleshoot complex storage, OS, and networking issues
- Build tools to improve the performance and monitoring of systems and HPC clusters
- Increase efficiency through automation of provisioning and configuration management

**What’s required**
- 5+ years of experience engineering, deploying, and managing large-scale Linux infrastructure, preferably in a financial services company
- 3+ years of experience in local filesystem management (ZFS, NTFS, xfs, ext4,etc.)
- 2+ years of experience with a modern infrastructure-as-code automation platform (Ansible, Salt, etc.)
- Knowledge of distributed file systems, (Lustre, GPFS, Netapp, etc.), used in large multi-tenant clustered compute environments and the ability to choose the right file system for the right use case
- Extensive experience with Linux (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu) performing configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of Linux software RAID and a solid understanding of hardware RAID, erasure encoding, and other protection methods for storage
- Experience in automation (Terraform, Ansible, packer preferred)
- Python, Shell, or Golang scripting
- Protocol knowledge of NFS and CIFS
- Experience deploying hybrid and/or cloud-native environments in AWS
- Experience with AWX, Tower, or Ansible Automation Platform
