**Core Responsibilities**:

- 1. Oversee ship compliance to regulatory requirements and legislation
- Implement strategies to maintain and monitor certification of ships
- Monitor results of all vetting inspections
- Ensure follow-up on findings from vetting inspections
- Monitor reports to ensure ships meet requirements and possess the relevant documentation
- 2. Oversee Crew Management Matters
- Endorse crew assigned to ships
- Conduct interviews and make recommendations on new hires
- 3. Manage maintenance of ships to ensure seaworthiness
- Oversee execution of repairs and dry-docking activities
- Check status of pending defects, inspection findings and audit findings
- Prepare ship condition reports for management
- Ensure dry dockings are effectively prepared and executed
- Oversee purchasing of vessel parts
- 4. Manage ship budget and expenditure
- Analyse budget and expenditure reports
- Formulate budgets for ships and oversee costs
- 5. Manage resource planning
- Review the utilisation of resources

**Job Requirement**
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in fleet management, ship operations, or maritime logistics, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Certificate of Competency (COC) as a Master Mariner or Chief Engineer, or equivalent qualification recognized by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
- Understanding of international maritime regulations like MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM (International Safety Management Code).
- Additional certifications such as ISM/ISPS Auditor, Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, or similar certifications may be preferred.
- Experience working with diverse fleets and vessel types, including bulk carriers, tankers, or container ships, would be preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams, liaise with external parties, and represent the company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in maritime software and systems used for fleet management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
