This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.

HarbourVest is seeking a Vice President to join our team in Asia to complete responsibilities for our Performance Measurement and Portfolio Analytics group, and with a view to adding further functions. This position will fall under the strategic mentorship of the Senior Vice President, Portfolio Analytics and Performance Measurement within the Data Office, who is based in Boston. This team is responsible for providing comprehensive, detailed performance measurement reviews on performance data within marketing materials, investor communication and other ad-hoc advertising materials; and, collection, tracking and analysis of all investment data and GP reporting. Experience in private equity fund accounting and reporting for a variety of funds and separately handled accounts is very advantageous.

The role will have direct reports based in our Singapore office and be responsible for Asia.
- Able to exhibit strong technical accounting skills related to private equity.
- Experienced in performance measurement reviews; proven ability to calculate and/or validate calculated returns, fees, performance attribution and exposure.
- Superior problem-solving skills and an understanding of requisite performance-related mathematical and quantitative techniques.
- Demonstrates ability to lead and assist in the development and management of successful teams; prior management experience is required.
- Must demonstrate strong customer service orientation by generating and responding to requests in a timely manner as well have the social skills to interact with both internal and external clients across multiple time zones.
- Proven track record to manage multiple and often opposing priorities, adept at problem solving, identifying creative solutions, working towards decisions, and deliver results consistently.
- Broad understanding of analytical tools and related systems, including spreadsheets, accounting platforms, and performance measurement systems, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and Visio.
- Experience with report, dashboard, and other analytical tool design/creation/maintenance.
- Experience with data governance and developing and monitoring exception reporting preferred.

What you will do:
Team Management - 70%
- Lead and supervise staff efficiently. Lead group projects. Provide courteously and professional service to investors and senior management.
- Set team strategy, tactical plans, and supervising daily activities including portfolio analytics, performance measurement, and private equity fund accounting.
- Supporting clients, prospects, and investment activities by providing timely, clear, and accurate data and reporting.

Relationship and Stakeholder Management - 10%
- Interacting with and communicating to various partners regarding portfolio analytics and industry standard private equity fund accounting, performance measurement and benchmarking practices across multiple time zones.

Continuous Improvement/Special Projects - 20%
- Act as a project leader on special projects as needed (i.e., system implementation/conversion, etc.) and drive operational improvement initiatives.
- And other responsibilities as required

Education Preferred

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials (CPA preferred)

Experience

10+ Years relevant experience in asset management or financial service, including accounting, performance measurement, investment data
