**About The Role**

As an Engineering Lead, you’ll play the role of CTO on one of our ventures. Once the venture is launched, you’ll then ensure a smooth handover for engineering-related aspects, before rolling off to your next project.

You are responsible for the technical direction and delivery of the products and businesses we build. This includes everything from hiring and technical architecture, through to pitching for initial funding. You will work closely with our other cohorts such as product and design to ensure the team is focussed on doing the right thing, at the right time, and in the right way. We believe in and practice servant leadership here, so your prime goal is to unlock the potential of your team, not do it all yourself.

**What You'll Do**
- Lead engineering cohorts to build state of the art technologies that solve genuine, real-world problems
- Create, grow and operate successful startups, working alongside venture leadership and other cohorts
- Design and deliver elegant technology solutions to complex problems with innovative, modern architectures
- Build, maintain and refine a scalable, high quality and performant code base
- Champion a foundation for iterative product development with good agile practices and a focus on software qualities such as testability, security, scalability, operability etc
- Mentor and support effective teams, oftentimes writing code with them
- Cross-pollinate good practises and insights between multiple ventures to drive continuous improvement of Engineering at DV

**What You'll Bring**:

- Over 5 years of experience leading, developing, and scaling engineering teams
- Hands-on development and delivery experience with a broad mix of languages and technologies
- The ability to build scalable, high quality, distributed services
- Experience with architectural design whilst leading and inspiring software development teams
- Experience working with Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery approaches, such as Continuous Integration, TDD, Infrastructure as Code etc
- Experience building cloud native software architectures
- An ability to embrace and reduce uncertainty through continual validated learning
- Strong people skills that contribute to an open and collaborative environment
- Passion for solving customer frictions through simple and effective software
- Experience in communicating technical vision to a variety of team members
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
