The Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) provides a continuum of services for children with
dyslexia, their parents, mainstream teachers and other professionals in the field of dyslexia in
Singapore.

We are looking for individuals with a passion in providing Speech-Language Therapy but are not able

registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) before they can start teaching at the DAS.
About our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Programme
Speech and Language Therapy is offered in individual or group settings, including social skills. Our
Speech-Language Therapists (SLTs) aim to build up the child’s fundamental speech, language and
communication skills to support his or her development and learning. Therapy is carried out in a
child-friendly, lively and bright environment. Language is aided and enhanced through fun and
functional activities.
The work of a Speech-Language Therapist - Flexi Scheme may involve:
Administering Speech-Language Assessments to identifying speech, language and
communication difficulties in clients for an age range of 5 years to 18 years.
Providing therapy to a diverse group of clients including children with speech and
language disorder, social communication difficulties, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia
and oral motor issues.
Working with clients on a one-to-one basis and in groups to deliver therapy.
Opportunity to work in school setting.
Planning, delivering and monitoring treatment programmes.
Recording outcome measures to evaluate intervention.
Using assistive technology to stimulate interest in therapy sessions.
Liaising closely with parents, caregivers and/or educators and providing regular updates
for them.

Opportunity to plan and deliver training sessions for parents and the public.
Being responsible for maintaining Continuing Professional Development and registration

Hyperactivity Issues. There will also be ongoing trainings during your time with the DAS.
The DAS will fully sponsor the course fees for the training. In view of the full sponsorship by DAS for
the initial training, a Bond or Minimum Service Period (MSP) will apply.
While the DAS invests in providing training and support, Flexi SLTs are expected to invest their
personal time to attend training and other matters such as meetings, completing the necessary
course work and preparing lesson plans for the therapy sessions they are conducting.
