About Us
Moral Welfare Home is a Welfare Home providing care and accommodation for residents with multiple disabilities (physically/ intellectually disabled, psychiatric illness). The Home is gazetted by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, who is providing funding for the residents, who are destitute and wards of the state.
About the Role
The Staff Nurse manages the clinical needs and physiological well-being of residents through use of nursing practices and procedures. He/ She will take on supervisorial duties such as delegation of tasks, medication dispensing, guidance & education, and maintaining of work standards. He/ She will assist the Nurse Manager with overseeing a team of nurses, who will assist with the daily care of residents. He/ She will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and provide inputs for resident care planning. He/ She will uphold administrative and ethical standards in all aspects surrounding the care of residents.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a Staff Nurse are listed in the following, but not limited to:
- Supervise and ensure all aspects of clinical operations surrounding the care of residents and their individual service requirements are carried out properly
- Ensure administrative task standards are maintained (packing and administering of medication, accurate documentation in IMR/ RMR, ordering of medical supplies)
- Utilize a multidisciplinary approach by maintaining cooperative relationships among healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary teams, communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving surrounding resident care
- Assess and prepare clinical inputs for formulation of care plans, for presentation during case conferences
- Supervise and guide Junior Nurses (Enrolled Nurses/ Nursing Aides) with daily operational and administrative tasks
- Maintain a professional approach as a representative of the Home when handling external stakeholders (Board of Visitors, Doctors, Auditors, Governmental Bodies)
- Ensure serviceability of medical and administrative equipment by verifying equipment availability and inventory, through preventive maintenance and use of vendors
- Ensure resident confidentiality is upheld through proper information processing and information control procedures, and auditing of patient and department records
- Assure quality of care by upholding ethical and practical standards of care, in-line with SNB’s and other governing agencies’ regulations
- Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of the Home
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimally possess a Diploma of Nursing from a recognized institution
- Registered/ Eligible for registration with the Singapore Nursing Board
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Staff Nurse preferred; fresh grads are welcome to apply
- Experience and knowledge of infection control, evidence-based projects, and liaison activities preferred
- Additional experience with cross-functional/ multidisciplinary teams will be an added advantage
- Comfortable working with residents with multiple disabilities (physical, intellectual, psychiatric illness)
- Effective team leader and team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Competency with report writing standards
- Multi-tasking is required
**Salary**: $2,750.00 - $4,000.00 per month

- Professional Qualification (preferred)

License/Certification:
- registered nursing certificate with Singapore Nursing Board (preferred)
