Senior Supervisor, Laboratory

Oversee employees and daily operations within the laboratory.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and oversee laboratory and other related activities (e.g., testing, inventory ordering/management, calibration, validation, maintenance of equipment, investigation and budget/cost control for assigned area), while establishing objectives in support of the company's strategy for the department. 30%
- Analyze, research, and acquire equipment in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Finance), while executing and approving resource planning, including staffing. Provide input, financial planning and/or manage a cost center with budget responsibilities. 15%
- Collaborate with corporate connections to provide technical expertise on laboratory utilization, design (e.g. workflow, airflow, electrical) and construction, and test methods. 10%
- Develop and lead the execution of protocols in collaboration with cross-functional teams in support of laboratory needs. 10%
- Partner with stakeholders on quality, safety and perform root cause investigations (i.e. CAPA), implement corrections/corrective actions and assess effectiveness where require, including direct participation with internal and external audits (e.g. may sit in audit interview, provide responses, etc.) 5%
- Develop, maintain and present performance and quality metrics 5%
- Other duties as assigned: (E.g. work with R&D to set up equipment for product and process demonstrations, collaborate with stakeholders on managing and allocation laboratory space requirements, test method transfers and/or improvements, installation of laboratory equipment, work with facilities to plan and develop new Labs and installations)

**Education and Experience**:
Bachelor's Degree In-depth technical knowledge and experience in assigned work area, Required
substantial experience in laboratory environment, with skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Supervisor II Required
At least 4 years years experience of previous related experience with full responsibility for all personnel including hire/fire authority and handling all aspects of employee relations in a laboratory setting
Experience leading and fostering multi-cultural teams with cultural sensitivity
Experience working in a medical device industry Preferred

**Additional Skills**:

- Proven project management expertise
- Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably JDE
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives, as well as mediating and negotiating the needs of other areas to achieve consensus
- In-depth understanding of procedures as it relates to assigned area of a laboratory environment
- Full knowledge of GMP, GDP and Health and Safety regulations
- Substantial knowledge of related laboratory equipment
- Proven leadership ability, including the ability to supervise/lead employee teams, coach and mentor lower lever supervisors, and effectively provide performance feedback.
- In depth analysis and problem solving in cases without clear precedent
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues with equipment and facility
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with internal customers and cross functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
