Technician I

**Position Title: Technician I_II_III (Shift)**

**Location: Singapore**

**Your role**
- The technician will assist all Digital Realty customers by providing “best in class” customer and technical support. The Technician will work with and support all customer demands which may include, racking and stacking of equipment, cabling, cross connects, etc. Internally, the Technician may work with the Deployment and Implementation teams, the Global Command Center, Provisioning team and Project Management to ensure relevant installations meet delivery dates and create a positive customer experience. The Technician will be primarily responsible for responding to Customer Requests within the Service Level Agreement time frame. The Technician will also assist other members of the Operations Team ensuring 100% uptime to all customers._

**What you’ll do**
- _Perform Remote Hands services which are tracked through the Digital Realty ticketing system. This includes, but is not limited to the following services:_
- _Equipment Rack and Stack_
- _Assist customers with the diagnosis of hardware and software issues on their equipment_
- _Power cycling of customer equipment_
- _Perform cabinet/cage audits_
- _Testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic circuits_
- _Assist with migrations of equipment, power, or networking devices_
- _Shipping and receiving of packages_
- _Receive, install and test customer and internal cross connects of copper and fiber optic interconnections_
- _Use of fiber test tools (e.g._ _SmartOTDR Handheld Fiber Tester, MTS-5800 Network Tester.)_
- _Provide timely customer and internal updates using a computer-based ticketing system_
- _Assist with the documentation and inventory verification/counts_
- _Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures_
- _Maintain overall Data Center cleanliness and appearance_
- _Work on rotational shift schedules_

**What you’ll need**
- _At least 3 years of experience in Data Center, Telecommunications or IT related field_
- _Basic understanding of inter-connectivity and structured cabling standards_
- _Understanding of network device deployment_
- _Ability to communicate written and verbally_
- _Work on rotational shift schedules_
- _Use of industry standard test equipment (OTDR, RFC testing)_
- _CDCP, CompTIA A+ / Net + Certification_
- _Knowledge of Fiber/Copper testing_
- _General knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory_
- _Knowledge of inventory control_
- _Effective organizational skills and attention to details_
- _Strong analytical skills_
- _Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and or/equivalents_
- _Lift and handle up to 50 pounds_
- _Bend, stoop, and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of network devices, materials, or equipment_
- _Work under a raised data center floor_
- _Work at height - Climb ladders (up to 16 feet) to reach plenum spaces_
