The Delta - NTU Corporate Laboratory for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) aims to develop revolutionary manufacturing and learning technologies for catalysing industrial transformation to achieve improvements in productivity, skills development and innovation. The lab has been developing advanced CPS technologies for enabling the transformation and creation of new breed of factories that can rise up to the challenge of future customer-driven manufacturing as well as versatile and intelligent learning platforms and technologies for empowering effective workforce training and knowledge transfer. The new lab will develop innovations in four key research areas in cyber-physical systems: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Learning, Smart Living, and Smart Commercialisation.

The Research Staff’s role’s is to work on research projects which involves developing of metacognitive algorithms and integrating multi-sensors for autonomous mobile robot

Key Responsibilities:

- Contribute to develop algorithms and machine learning models to support a autonomous mobile robot (AMR) system capable of smart navigation in a dynamic scenario with humans
- Machine learning model should incorporate data from multiple sensors, such as Lidar and camera, on AMR platform for perception, prediction, and navigation
- Implement and assess algorithms, such as simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), path planning, and decision making, for AMRs based on both simulation and real data
- Contribute to the development of machine learning technique for real-time perception, multi-level sensor fusion and decision making in dynamic indoor scenarios
- Contribute to the development of metacognition-based framework for real-time algorithm/strategy selection under situation awareness and resource constraints for AMRs
- Contribute to data collection of stipulated scenarios
- Contribute to the project reporting, documentation, and publications

Job Requirements:

- PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related fields
- Familiar with programming languages, such as Python, C/C++, and ROS
- Good knowledge on robotics perception and sensor fusion
- Experience in reinforcement learning or deep learning is preferred
- Driven, passionate, self-starter, team player, innovative and quality focused
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Open to learning new development methods
