General Manager

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead our transport and warehousing operations. This senior leadership role requires a seasoned professional who can take charge of end-to-end logistics functions, ensure fleet and warehouse efficiency, drive operational excellence, and uphold high service standards.

The role will also serve as a **trusted Executive Support to the Chairman**, providing administrative, strategic, and personal assistance in managing high-level engagements and confidential matters.

**Core Responsibilities**:
**Transport & Distribution Leadership**:

- Oversee the planning, execution, and performance of all transportation activities across our logistics network.
- Manage fleet operations including scheduling, maintenance, and driver deployment to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor delivery timelines, route optimization, and cost controls to meet performance and customer satisfaction targets.

**Logistics & Warehousing Oversight**:

- Supervise warehousing activities including receiving, storage, inventory control, and order fulfilment.
- Work closely with warehouse supervisors to streamline inbound/outbound processes and reduce handling errors.
- Implement safety protocols and maintain compliance with workplace safety standards and regulatory guidelines.

**Team & Resource Management**:

- Lead a cross-functional team comprising drivers, operations staff, and warehouse personnel.
- Provide mentoring, conduct performance reviews, and support ongoing staff development and training.
- Ensure the workforce operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company objectives.

**Strategic & Operational Improvement**:

- Identify and implement initiatives to improve fleet utilization, reduce downtime, and control operational costs.
- Work with executive leadership to align logistics capabilities with broader business goals.
- Explore new technologies and practices to enhance visibility, tracking, and reporting of transport KPIs.

**Customer & Vendor Coordination**:

- Serve as the escalation point for service issues, delivery complaints, or logistics disruptions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key clients, suppliers, and contractors.

**Executive Support to Chairman**:

- Manage the daily calendar, appointments, meetings, and travel plans of the Chairman.
- Serve as a liaison between the Chairman and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft confidential correspondence, prepare executive reports, and coordinate board-level meetings and materials.
- Handle private and sensitive matters with absolute discretion and integrity.
- Support the Chairman in both business-related and selected personal administrative duties as needed.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- At least **8 years of progressive experience**in logistics and transport management, with senior-level oversight.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams and complex operations in a logistics or warehousing environment.
- Prior experience in executive-level support is an added advantage.
