**About the Job**:
We are seeking a Laboratory Safety/Facility Assistant Manager to join us in our R&D centre located in Singapore.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Laboratory Safety/Facility Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient and safe operation of the lab.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Conduct Risk Assessment for all aspects of lab operations
- Ensure required SOPs are in place and updated where necessary
- Perform routine lab inspection to ensure safe operations in the Lab
- Maintain a current chemical inventory log, paying special attention to corrosive, flammable, and explosive chemicals
- Maintain a database of SDS (safety data sheet) and ensure availability where needed
- Maintain up-to-date licenses and permits from relevant authorities (SCDF, SPF, NEA, etc.)
- Liaise with contractor where needed to ensure facilities (ACMV, power supply, lighting, etc.) are in proper working condition.
- Maintain oversight of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, spill control kits, first aid kits, shower,and eyewash are appropriate, adequate, and functional.
- Ensure relevant PPE are available and promote adherence in the Lab
- Ensure chemical/biohazard waste are properly disposed
- Lead the formulation and maintenance of Emergency Response Plan and its dissemination to all
- Conduct training for new colleagues joining the Lab
- Perform other duties as needed

**REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES)**:

- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in a Lab setting
- Possess strong knowledge of Lab safety as reflected by qualifications and continuous training
- Sound understanding of Risk Assessment process
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements of Lab operations
- Proficiency with computers and software (MS Office, Teams, Sharepoint)
- A hands-on, practical problem solver, demonstrates attention to detail and effective teamwork
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience working in GLP/ISO17025 certified environment
- Prior experience in purchases via SAP system
