[What the role is]
As a Lecturer, your contributions go beyond teaching and facilitating learning. You will play a critical role in recognising and nurturing your students’ potential and their lifelong learning needs.
[What you will be working on]
In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and to evolving changes in industry, and maintain strong linkages with industry and schools. You will also have the opportunity to have industry attachments or experience on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge and practices of your profession.
Your primary teaching role to deliver curriculum in the areas of Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Intelligent Automation. You will also provide administrative and project management support for the various part-time courses under the Continuing Training Department, including intake activities, correspondence with various stakeholders on course and funding matters, handling of student information, compile and analyse intake information.
In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and to evolving changes in the industry, and maintain strong linkages with industry, companies and schools. You will also have the opportunity to have industry attachments or experience on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge and practices of your profession
[What we are looking for]
You should be trained in Computer Science or Information Technology, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the related industry.
You should possess relevant knowledge and working experience in at least 2 or more of the areas below:
- Operating systems administration such as Windows Servers, Linux Servers, etc.
- Cloud & Virtualisation Technologies such as AWS, VMware, etc.
- Networking concepts such as router, switches, wireless access points etc.
- Professional certifications in network / cloud / cyber security will be an added advantage (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, MCP, AWS Certified Practitioner, CISSP, CISA or equivalent).
- Experience in RPA and wireless technologies such 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6e is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud or system security.
- Proficient in at least one of the programming languages (Python, JavaScript, PHP).
You should also possess passion and genuine interest to share knowledge and interact with youths. In addition, you should possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
Those with more experience can look forward to Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development opportunities to leadership positions in the Colleges or Headquarters.
