**Job Summary**:
This role involves underwriting cases from SME Marine Cargo business (originating from Local Brokers and Agents) within your designated underwriting authority. The role will also review a small portfolio of P&C renewals from the Broking channel (including Motor renewals). Cases outside personal authority limits will need to be referred internally within the Distribution team or to our Portfolio Managers. In the role, you will provide guidance and expertise to achieve business development and retention targets. You will spend the majority of your time delivering and building relationships with Distributors, make underwriting decisions, supporting colleagues and contributing to policy wordings and managing customer interactions.
You must also be a good team player as required to work with other colleagues responsible for underwriting risks. You will have strong analytical, relationship management and communication skills.

**Job Duties**:

- Overall managing the day to day underwriting of the SME Marine Cargo business to ensure quick turnaround.
- Develop and maintain good relationship with assigned Distributors focusing on SME Marine Cargo and Broker renewals.
- Ability to provide trainings for Marine Cargo, as needed.
- Drive new renewal listings and relationship management.
- Reviewing allocated cases and delivering underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level and with the necessary senior direction and support, in order to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite.
- Identifying non-standard or complex risks and escalating to more qualified colleagues to ensure they are handled appropriately.

**Qualifications**

**Essential Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in General Insurance Industry
- Knowledge of Commercial and Marine Cargo business
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Keen learner and a Self-Starter
- Positive attitude and ability to handle challenges
- Possess Industry Professional Certifications
