ICC’s Digital Standards Initiative (“DSI”) is the leading global multistakeholder initiative to accelerate the digitalization of trade processes - convening both industry and major intergovernmental organizations to enable the development of a seamless and trusted ecosystem for digital trade. Central to this initiative is a major global campaign to promote regulatory reforms to encourage the use of electronic documents - replacing outdated laws that currently require a reliance on paper-based processes in most jurisdictions.
We are currently seeking to appoint a skilled and highly driven regulatory affairs/policy professional - ideally with recognized legal training — to drive targeted advocacy campaigns secure national legal reforms to enable digital trade based on recognised UN standards.
**The Role**:
- Drive, execute and evolve ICC’s global campaign to secure legal reform commitments to enable digital trade in key jurisdictions and major intergovernmental fora.
- Lead the development of tailored advocacy materials, research and analysis to support established advocacy goals - working with partner organizations, as appropriate.
- Undertake detailed research on existing national legal regimes governing trade instruments - working with local experts and partner law firms.
- Develop and maintain high-quality working relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers.
- Coordinate and steer the activities of ICC DSI’s Legal Reform Advisory Board - including formal quarterly meetings.
- Represent ICC at relevant external events and on industry working groups pertaining to trade digitalization.
- Support reporting to government donors on activities and the achievement of established milestones.
Contribute to the development of the broader objectives/activities of ICC DSI, as required.
**Requirements**:
A degree in law - ideally with associated experience in private practice or business.
- Experience working on public policy campaigns would be a major plus.
- A strong understanding of trade processes and associated legal frameworks.
- A proven ability to build strong stakeholder networks at a range of levels.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for institutional engagement and visibility.
- A strong commitment to ICC’s values and our mission to enable trade as a driver of peace, prosperity and opportunity for all.
- First-class written and oral communication skills.
- Proven planning and organisational skills.
- Fluent English essential; additional languages a plus.
