To lead the development, coordination, and monitoring of project schedules and planning deliverables for infrastructure and civil engineering projects. This role ensures that project timelines, resource allocations, and progress align with contractual requirements, budgets, and quality standards, while providing strategic planning input to support decision-making and risk management.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**1. Planning & Scheduling**
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., PrImavera P6, MS Project).
- Prepare baseline programmes, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project milestones in coordination with the project team.
- Integrate design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into the master schedule.
- Monitor schedule progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
**2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting**
- Track project performance against the baseline schedule and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and present regular planning reports, including lookahead schedules, delay analysis, and recovery plans.
- Provide input to project dashboards and management reports for internal and client review.
**3. Risk & Change Management**
- Identify scheduling risks, assess potential impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate change requests, variations, and extensions of time (EOT) claims.
- Support dispute resolution by providing detailed programme analysis.
**4. Stakeholder Coordination**
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure alignment of schedules.
- Interface with clients, consultants, and subcontractors for planning-related matters.
- Participate in project review meetings and tender planning submissions.
**5. Tender & Pre-Construction Support**
- Develop tender programmes and methodologies for bidding purposes.
- Provide planning input into project execution strategies and resource planning.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years’ planning experience in infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, civil works methodologies, and contractual requirements.
- Experience with major infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, rail, utilities, airports, ports).
