**SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to assist the Chief Engineer / Assistant Chief Engineer in the operation and maintenance of the building to ensure a high standard of upkeep and maintenance to the satisfaction of the building owner and guests / tenants.

To assist the Chief Engineer / Assistant Chief Engineer to carry alteration and addition works, major replacement of equipments, tenancy works of the building, etc, as may be required from time to time to meet the needs that have arisen.

This role reports directly to the Chief Engineer/ Assistant Chief Engineer/ Duty Engineer
- Assist the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer to executive preventive & corrective maintenance and restoration work as instructed.
- To supervise all repairs and maintenance work as requested by the superior. Ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently and with minimum disruption to Hotel guests and tenant of Hotel.
- Liaise with other departments of the Hotel and shop tenants in providing engineering support.
- Lead and provide guidance and hand-on training to all maintenance staff.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively is required.
- Monitor junior staff performance and personal attitude
- Ensure smooth supply of electricity, water and air-conditioning and lift in the building.
- Distribute daily work to the junior maintenance staff, and monitor and completion of work.
- Report all irregular incidents and faults to the immediate superior.
- Ensure completion of all work orders received during his shift duty.
- To maintain a proper personal grooming, smile and greeting to hotel guests and tenant.
- Assist superior in troubleshoot and rectification in all engineering faults and defects.
- Liaise and assist any contractor in any work done within the building.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise such as fire emergency, power blackout and bursting of water pipe etc.
- Co-ordinate and supervise all works carried out by the contractors and consultants within the building.
- Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

**Job requirements**
- Preferably with minimum 3 years of Supervisor experience in Engineering related industries or 5 years as a Senior Technician in Engineering or related industries.
- Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel of computer for preparing reports
- Possess skills in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of building equipment
- Good communication skills (verbal and written), able to resolve any conflicts.
- Good coaching skill, ability to lead the junior maintenance staff.
- Willingness to learn and work as a team member
- Possess high level of integrity and respect for others
- Able to withstand huge pressure and stress towards work
- Outgoing personality
- Responsible to his work, hardworking, good initiative with cost saving in mind
- Self-confident, self esteem
- Good problem solving skills necessary
- Able to put in long hours when required and 24 hours standby for any technical problem occurring
- This role is for 2 properties - Novotel Singapore on Kitchener (nearest MRT: Farrer Park) & Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre (nearest MRT: Chinatown).
