Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor for Tilers will oversee the installation and finishing of tile work on a construction site, ensuring that the tiling process meets project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines. This role will involve supervising tiling crews, managing materials, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Coordination**:Supervise and direct tiling crews to ensure the efficient execution of tiling tasks.
Coordinate daily work schedules, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Ensure workers follow blueprints, drawings, and project specifications related to tiling.
- **Quality Control**:Inspect work to ensure that it meets quality standards and adheres to project plans.
Ensure that tiles are installed according to industry standards for durability and finish.
- **Material Management**:Oversee the proper storage and handling of tiling materials, including tiles, adhesives, grout, and tools.
Maintain inventory levels and ensure that materials are ordered in a timely manner to avoid delays.
Track and manage the consumption of materials on-site, minimizing waste.
- **Safety Compliance**:Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all tiling work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor site safety, including the proper use of protective equipment, to prevent accidents or injuries.
Conduct site safety meetings with tiling crew members and ensure they are aware of any hazards.
- **Reporting and Communication**:Report any issues related to tiling progress, quality, or delays to the Project Manager.
Maintain clear communication with other site supervisors, contractors, and the project management team.
Document any changes in work scope, material requirements, or timelines and communicate with relevant parties.
- **Training and Development**:Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior tilers and apprentices.
Ensure that all tiling workers are skilled in using appropriate tools and techniques.
- **Problem Resolution**:Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to tiling work, such as tile defects, installation errors, or delays in material delivery.
Work with other site supervisors to coordinate solutions for cross-trade challenges.

**Key Requirements**:

- **Experience**:Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or Foreman in the tiling or construction industry.
Hands-on experience in tiling, including installation of various types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, marble, etc.).
Experience with managing a team of tilers and subcontractors.
- **Technical Skills**:Strong knowledge of tiling materials, tools, and installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with construction site equipment and safety practices.
- **Leadership and Communication**:Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with workers, supervisors, and clients.
Ability to delegate tasks efficiently and manage time effectively.
- **Education & Certifications**:High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Certification or formal training in tiling or construction management is a plus.
First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
Construction Site Safety Training or relevant safety certifications.
- **Physical Requirements**:Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
- **Other Skills**:Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
Problem-solving skills to address issues that arise on-site quickly and effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Work Environment**:

- The Site Supervisor for Tilers will work on construction sites, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Protective clothing and equipment (e.g., hard hats, safety boots, gloves, etc.) must be worn at all times.
- Work hours may vary depending on project needs, with the possibility of extended hours during peak times or project deadlines.
