**Job Description**:
- Perform simulations with appropriate details- Create technical documentations for design and concepts- Design control algorithm for power converters- Build microcontroller/DSP programs for testing- Communicate effectively on the work progress and highlight the issues/risks to the manager- Collaborate with team members to work effectively and solve day to day issues- Responsible for on-time delivery of the milestones- Build hardware, perform experiments, and troubleshoot issues- Support in project purchases, creating posters and presentations- Responsible for equipment in the lab and their usage- Responsibly follow the lab rules, use proper PPE, follow safety guidelines, and maintain 5S- Guide interns and FYP students in mini projects- Support project management activities for interdependent work packages
Job Requirements:- Good technical knowledge of gate driver design, controller design, magnetic components, and layout of power converter system- Basic understanding of packaging and thermal management of power converters- Experience in electrical motor drives and control design for power electronics converters- Experience in designing sensorless motor drive control for induction and permanent magnet machines will be advantageous- Experience in schematic design, modelling and time domain simulation software for power converter design (preferable)- Preferred experience with MATLAB/ Simulink/ Embedded coder for model-based design. Experience in using PSIM/DSIM and co-simulation with MATLAB will be advantageous- Fair knowledge of converter layout and component placement in converters- Good problem-solving skills to be able to resolve potential issues when integrating power electronics converter into distribution system with various energy storages and sources/loads-
- Familiarity with/ Exposure to different industrial standards for electrical system will be advantageous- Must be a team player to work in multi-domain team (Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Thermal). In general, applicant should have broad interests across engineering disciplines and a sound understanding of interactions with other engineering disciplines
