**Responsibilities**:
Perform credit analysis on new & exiting customers timely in order to decide credit rating and recommend credit limits for the Credit Committee’s consideration.
- Perform credit analysis on new & existing customers to recommend credit rating and credit limits for the Credit Committee’s consideration
- Monitor delivered exposures of marine portfolio, review credit lines as market events and credit policy dictates, make sound decisions on credit approvals for exposures over credit lines
- Maintain oversight of overdue payments. Liaise closely with collections, commercial and legal teams, monitor clients for signs of payment deterioration
- Stay abreast of freight and commodity markets, develop knowledge of clients and the markets that they operate in
- Influence, make recommendations and negotiate with internal stakeholders for the benefit of the business, represent the risk management voice in business discussions and decisions
- Attend customer meetings as part of credit review process
- Suggest meaningful Credit and Risk metrics and associated reporting to monitor APP segment Credit and Risk results; develop metrics and reporting as directed
- Work with international team of analysts to overhaul or improve credit methodology and be an active collaborator
- Ensure proper internal controls and compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintaining and updating credit files as and when required
- Complete other ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to time

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

- Good Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably in Maritime studies, Accountancy, Finance, Business, Mathematics or Engineering
- 1-2 years prior experience in an analytical role not limited to credit but suitable fresh graduates will be considered
- Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Understanding of shipping industry is a distinctive advantage
- Knowledge of risk mitigation tools, including international security documentation instruments, standby letters of credit and bank guarantees is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
