**Job Overview**:
A Sports Physical Therapist specializes in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletes and individuals engaged in sports and physical activities. They focus on preventing and managing sports-related injuries, promoting optimal performance, and facilitating the safe return of athletes to their sports activities.

**Key Responsibilities:
**1. **Injury Assessment**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of sports-related injuries, considering the unique demands of each sport.
- Use diagnostic tools and methods to evaluate the extent of injuries, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and biomechanical aspects.

**2. **Treatment Planning**:

- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs and goals of athletes.
- Implement a combination of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to promote recovery and improve performance.

**3. **Rehabilitation**:

- Oversee the rehabilitation process for athletes recovering from injuries, surgeries, or other musculoskeletal conditions.
- Provide progressive exercises to restore strength, flexibility, and functional movement.

**4. **Performance Enhancement**:

- Collaborate with athletes and coaches to design and implement programs aimed at enhancing athletic performance, preventing injuries, and improving overall conditioning.
- Conduct biomechanical assessments to identify areas for improvement in technique and movement patterns.

**5. **Injury Prevention**:

- Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including strength and conditioning exercises, flexibility training, and education on proper warm-up and cool-down routines.
- Provide guidance on proper body mechanics and techniques to minimize the risk of injuries.

**6. **Sports-Specific Rehabilitation**:

- Tailor rehabilitation programs to the specific demands of different sports and activities.
- Work closely with athletes to address sport-specific movements and skills during the recovery process.

**7. **Collaboration with Sports Teams**:

- Collaborate with coaches, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to athlete care.
- Attend team practices and games to assess athletes in their natural environment.

**8. **Education and Counselling**:

- Educate athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation strategies, and overall wellness.
- Provide psychological support and counselling to help athletes cope with the challenges of injury and recovery.

**9. **Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of athlete assessments, treatment plans, progress, and communication with other healthcare professionals.
