The research engineer will work in collaboration with postdoctoral associate(s) and supervisor(s) with expertise in metabolomics, proteomics, and microbiological approaches to develop and validate the bench-to-bedside assays and prototypes.

Goals:
Optimization, testing, troubleshooting and validation of our existing detection assays and protocols on target adventitious agents. The assay was built based on a metabolomics study, and further implementation of the method to understand the different variations of the adventitious agents is needed.

Assay and process validation using lab-scale LC-MS, bench-top mass spectrometry, and/or UV spectroscopy approaches that go towards the technical specification of safety/sterility detection modalities. This may include working with internal and external scientists and engineers to integrate the assay into a broader detection strategy or technology.

Supporting prototype development, testing and documentation for deployment in CAMP and/or CAMP collaborators.

Assay qualification and benchmarking with industry standards to ensure robustness in a real operational environment.

**Job Requirements**:
You will be working in a team of Scientists, Clinicians and Engineers to validate and perform process development of adventitious agent detection approaches with the desired bioanalytical parameters. We are interested to hire an applicant who has:

- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related discipline
- Meticulous and careful in the conduct of experiments
- Open to learning new skills and knowledge related to the multidisciplinary field of developing adventitious agent detection for cell therapy manufacturing
- Good teamwork spirit and communication skills

Should possess at least one of the following skillsets:

- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and the culturing techniques of mammalian cells and microorganisms
- Familiarity with analytical biological approaches such as mass spectrometry and UV spectroscopy
- Familiarity with process development and assay qualification
