Singapore Singapore General Hospital Full time

You will be part of the clinical microbiology lab in SGH which plays a key role in the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases.

You will be leading a section which focuses on bacterial genomics. The results will contribute to the understanding of disease processes, infection prevention and control, and public health.

You will mentor and coach junior staff. You will also assist in establishing, implementing and updating departmental policies and procedures.

**Job Requirements**
- PhD in a relevant discipline (biomedical science, bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or related field).
- Masters in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
- Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent with minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- Good command of English, communications and interpersonal skills are important
- Proficiency in scripting and statistical language (eg Perl, Python, R, particularly in the use of packages such as biopython).
- Prior experience in wet lab and bioinformatics analysis of human/microbial genomes, metagenomics will be an advantage.
- Knowledge in high performance computing (HPC) and cloud computing.
