Tasks
- Responsible for the illumination functions in the automotive HMI products (instrument clusters, displas, control panels, etc.) throughout the product life cycle i.e. conception until manufacturing. Illumination functions include backlight units for liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and light guides.
- Selects and defines LED’s according to customers’ requirements, target costs with consideration of supplier sourcing.
- Analyses light paths in illumination functions. Performs light and appearance simulations and analysis and provide optimizations to achieve desired luminance, homogeneity & chromaticity. Tools used are SPEOS, CATIA and Creo.
- Performs analysis of optical measurement results and identify corrective actions to meet both external and internal requirements (e.g. manufacturing yield).
- Supports in definition of test procedure for in-production measurement and balancing process.
- Creates of required work products / deliverables including documents and reports.
- Collaborates with R&D teams in planning of tasks and deliverables.
- Follows both project implementation rules and the quality management rules in realization of the project.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in science or engineering with working experience in lighting / illumination system and simulation.
- Preferred: Experienced in using SPEOS, CATIA and Creo.
- Knowledgeable in color science, photometric and colorimetric metrology, LCD technologies and optical active surfaces.
- Proven in being meticulous and detailed in technical reporting.
- Proven in task planning, prioritization and escalation when necessary.
- Proven in collaboration in technical environment.
- Highly values trust, integrity, passion to win, freedom to act and for one another.
- Willing to travel overseas for work.
