Relief Drama Technician

**UWCSEA East**is looking for a Relief Drama Technician to join our theatre production team from end January 2025. This individual reports directly to the Theatre Technical Manager on the East Campus.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide technical support with lighting and multimedia for daily Drama curriculum based activities.
- Assist in the development of Drama productions.
- Operate a digital lighting board during rehearsals and assessment performances.
- Interpret a lighting plot, rig, patch and focus lighting fixtures.
- Assist with the video capture of performances in a multi-camera setup.
- Assist with video post production needs.
- Ensure that video files are stored and organised in Google drive.
- Assist in the creation of presentations to conduct lighting workshops during Drama lessons.
**Person Specifications**
- Minimum Diploma in Theatre Production is required.
- Experience in lighting design is preferable.
- Experience of using CAD, Vectorworks and focus-plotting software to create and amend lighting plots and paperwork.
- A good working knowledge of fundamental electrical practice and theory.
- Excellent communicator with aspirations for a career in lighting design or technical theatre.
- The ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Resilient and with the ability to demonstrate and communicate enthusiasm.
- Consistently recognized for punctuality and reliability.
- The ability to manage a variety of tasks and be confident in time management skills.
- Intermediate computer literacy.
- Basic awareness of electrical safety.
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, including understanding and responding to visual, oral and written instructions.
- An open mind to new and different ways of working and the ability to acquire new skills when needed.
- Comfortable with working at height.
