Automation Engineer

**Purpose of the Job
To interface with commissioning activities and accept electrical systems into service completing pre and post checks, developing test schedules and Quality Control records for Autonomous Prime Mover. Testing and tuning of equipment, load shedding and network control systems. Conduct initial drive runs. Plan stepwise commissioning details according to the overall procedure and instruct commissioning crews and or subcontractor for the necessary action.

**Job Content and Context
- Obtain and adhere to testing and commissioning plan for Autonomous Prime Mover.
- Adhere to accepted Drive, PLC and control system standards design. Seek operational data and operations-based feedback, provide comprehensive and useful documentation and assures availability of adequate spares for efficient warranty support.
- Responsible for ARMG load/unload
- Responsible for Highway Rule Test, FMS Joint Test and DSRC test.
- Obtain commissioning plans to integrate and verify Drive, PLC and control system and sub-systems in accordance to compliance matrices.
- Occupational Health and Safety standards, statutory requirements, relevant codes of practice, manufacturers’ specifications, environmental requirements and enterprise procedures are identified and monitored throughout the work procedure.
- Potential hazards are identified and prevention and / or control measures are selected in accordance with the work plan and site procedures.
- Work is completed and appropriate personnel notified in accordance to requirements
- Work completion details are finalised in accordance with predefined procedures
- Provide and maintain detailed Drive, PLC and control system documentation on new design and modifications including engineering change notices to assure documentation is available when needed.
- Knowledge and experience in commissioning of Autonomous Prime Mover
- 3D LIDAR point cloud data processing, machine vision data processing.
- 3D LIDAR, millimeter wave radar and machine vision object detection and data fusion.
- GNSS/IMU integrated navigation and high precision map-matching.
- Responsible for answering and supporting clients enquiries on robotic/automation issues.

**Performance Standards
- Targets set by the Project Manager are achieved within the time scales agreed.
- Follows ZPMC and regulatory requirements in all commissioning, testing, diagnostic and repair operations
- Completes work systematically with attention to detail and without damage of goods, equipment or personnel
- Is capable of adapting to differing work conditions and circumstances (E.g. Climatic, light or dark, etc.)
- Capable of installation, commissioning, and maintenance of robotic and relevant automation equipment

**Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or computer or electrical automation with more than 4 years’ experience, or Certificate with more than 7 years’ experience in related field.
- At least four years’ experience in Autonomous Prime Mover field.
- Experience in project implementation in particularly Autonomous Prime Mover.
- Specialty in math, robotics, computer, automation or vehicle engineering.
- Experience in commissioning of Autonomous Prime Mover.
- Specialized in pre-processing and post processing of images. Solid skills in image analysis and pattern recognition. Familiar with pedestrian, vehicle and other objects detection, tracking and identification.
- Hands on experience in Drive and PLC tuning, hardware and software modification and upgrading.
- Repair and maintenance on Autonomous Prime Mover
- Experienced in one or more sensor (LIDAR, Radar, Supersonic radar) processing algorithm, experienced in multi-sensor fusion algorithms for object detection and tracking.
- Solid skills in programming, familiar with C/C++ languages.
- Familiar with Linux and ROS systems.
- Knowledge of workplace OH&S in relation to equipment, material and personal safety requirements
- Drive and PLC system for Siemens, Yaskawa and Fuji
- Types and layout of service/repair manuals and or diagrams / schematics (hard copy and electronic)
- Testing and fault identification procedures
- Communicating effectively with others
- Accurately interpreting inspection results
- Articulate and focussed
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin
