Information and Communication Technology

In addition to the management and administration of non-educational components of IT at the school, the ICT Engineer also assists with and provides support to Administrative and Educational staff.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Serves as the main point of contact for all technology-related matters at school; serves as point person for all XCL Singapore-based schools and the XCL parent company
- Manages and maintains the school’s systems that include yet are not limited to:

- JAM Suite of software for software deployment and device management
- Mac OS X and iOS as the primary operating systems for devices
- Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Azure AD Office 365 Tenant, DNS, DHCP for network administration
- Aruba ClearPass for wireless network management
- FortiGate Firewall for security and online safety
- Canon Uniflow printing solution
- Destiny Follet library online catalog
- Others as set forth by the Head of IT
- Maintain the VolP service (Avaya) and all other phone services, working with service support providers in setting up new users and for troubleshooting.
- Manage users and their access rights
- Work to prevent data loss and perform regular backup of critical data that impact school function
- React appropriately to security breaches of and evidence of new risks
- Manage the ICT physical helpdesk space based on school schedule and service level agreement (SLA)
- Manage ICT consumables ensuring adequate working levels of stock
- To investigate sources of supply for hardware, software and audio-visual equipment as appropriate

**System Development**:

- To maintain and contribute to the development of the larger school-wide systems infrastructure growth and development, e.g network is expanding
- Monitor and manage the network and related equipment to maximize efficiency by working with the ICT Team and liaising with suppliers and vendors
- Proactively monitor ICT usage and user data to identify opportunities for better security, performance enhancement and improvement
- Ensure system documentation stays current through the creation and maintenance of a knowledge base
- Provide day-to-day management of system-related contracts and identify and problem solve shortfalls and areas for development
- Keep abreast of pedagogical-related system developments being planned and implemented by the ELT and to act as the primary interface with the ELT on ICT matters
- Pursue ongoing professional development and certifications by keeping current with infrastructure and network systems development
- Actively participate in the development, planning, and implementing efficient communication systems for use both within the school and between school and home

**Inventory Management**:

- To provide the ICT Department with details of system equipment and configuration details to enable management of the inventory management system for recording equipment inventory details

**Student Support, Staff Support and Others**:

- To assist with the development of school policies with regard to standards of operation and use of ICT equipment throughout the school and ensure they are applied
- To provide support for ICT users in all areas of the school including the back office and the leadership team
- To support out-of-hours ICT services as required
- To provide cover for other members of the ICT team as appropriate
- Provide AV support for classroom, events or learning activities
- Provide additional AV support in the auditorium when necessary
- To independently determine priorities and scheduling of work other than when under instructions from the Head of IT
- Jointly (with designated AV staff) in charge of the VideoWall and eSignage systems in the school as well as providing technical advice and support to the users of the video-conferencing facilities
- To assist the Head of IT in budgetary planning, controls and procurement duties
- The role entails the manual lifting and moving of equipment
- To undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job

**Person Specifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5 years minimum suitable experience in significant ICT support service and/ or management roles
- Fluent English language capacity
- Good personal etiquette and positive customer service attitude
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and effective problem-solving (technical) skills
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times
- Understanding of ICT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to varied audiences
- Knowledge on MDM solutions, Windows servers, Google Workspace and M365
