Our client is a European energy trading firm with an established offices across Asia Pacific and over a decade of successful trading history in the region.

Dry Bulk Vessel Operator position is a new headcount to support their growing, international business, responsible for the daily operations of the vessels, ensures compliance with organisation procedures and industry regulations to ensure the safe operation of ships, and monitors movements and cargo transfer operations.

The Vessel Operator assists with the planning of cargo intakes, maintains customer relationships, and responds to problems that may arise in the course of executing vessel operations. He/She actively contributed to improvements to the workflow and assists with implementation.

**Job responsibilities**:

- Arrange and manage advance payments from charterers and final settlements when the voyage is complete.
- Assist with commercial analysis, preparation of operational and annual reports as well as laytime and off-hire statements on completion of each voyage.
- Coordinate shipping requirements under Contracts of Affreightment.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operational activities, and liaise with external parties to ensure efficient commercial operation.
- Prepare ship position updates.
- Propose workflow improvements to improve efficiency.
- Update clients on ship activities, personnel, refinery and fleet changes.
- Update customer databases.

**Job requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Logistics, Maritime or other related disciplines
- At least 1 year of experience in a dry bulk shipping company or commodities trading organization
- Communication skills in Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory
- Work experience in Endur or IMOS is advantageous but not mandatory
