**ABOUT THE PROGRAMME**:
This programme aims to help students in secondary school manage, regulate, and direct their emotions toward positive outcomes. It deploys volunteers who mentor and meet participants regularly in small group settings.

The **Youth Work Associate **will support both the Youth Worker and Project Leader in running the year-long programme, and will assist in the coordinating and engaging of the various stakeholders who include youth participants, volunteer mentors, programme funders, evaluators, and community partners.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Recruitment and screening of youth participants and volunteer mentors**:

- Assist in the screening of participants and volunteers to ensure they meet programme requirements;
- Assist in assessing suitability of volunteers to serve as mentors to students.

**Conducting training, monitoring and support of volunteer mentors and students**:

- Assist in training & equipping volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to function as effective mentors in the programme;
- Monitoring volunteers’ performance and progress in the programme;
- Supporting volunteers’ needs and motivating them to function effectively as mentors to youth participants;
- Conduct fortnight life-skill sessions for students, alongside the Youth Worker/Project Leader.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Providing inputs for programme content for mentoring and small group activities;
- Assist in coordination & supporting both students and volunteer mentors;
- Providing basic counselling and crisis management, if required;
- Assist in coordinating data and information needed for reporting and evaluation purposes;
- Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays, when required

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**:
**Technical Competencies**:

- Diploma in Social Services (or equivalent), with minimum 1 year’s relevant experience, preferably in coordinating and conducting youth mentoring programmes
- Experience in working with youths aged 13-16 years old
- Online engagement tools, e.g., social media, surveys
- Basic counselling & crisis management skills
- Microsoft Office
- Communication skills
