Prompt Engineer

**Position Summary**:We are seeking a highly creative, analytical, and technically proficient Prompt Engineer to join our growing AI team. The Prompt Engineer will be instrumental in bridging the gap between human language and artificial intelligence, designing, testing, and refining prompts to maximize the performance, accuracy, and utility of our large language models (LLMs) and other generative AI systems. This role is critical for developing innovative AI-powered solutions that meet our business objectives and deliver exceptional user experiences.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Prompt Design & Optimization**:

- Develop, iterate, and refine high-quality prompts for various generative AI models (e.g., text, image, code generation) to achieve specific outcomes and desired model behaviors.
- Craft prompts that elicit accurate, relevant, coherent, and contextually appropriate responses from AI models.
- Experiment with different prompt engineering techniques, including few-shot learning, chain-of-thought prompting, role-playing, and contextual conditioning, to enhance model performance.
- Optimize prompts for efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness of model inference.
- **Performance Evaluation & Testing**:

- Design and execute systematic testing methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness and robustness of prompts across diverse use cases and datasets.
- Identify and debug prompt-related issues, such as biases, hallucinations, inconsistencies, and suboptimal outputs.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to understand model capabilities and limitations, feeding insights back into prompt design.
- **Knowledge Management & Documentation**:

- Establish best practices and guidelines for prompt design and management.
- Document prompt templates, successful strategies, common pitfalls, and testing results.
- **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML engineers, data scientists, product managers, UX designers, and content creators, to translate business requirements into effective prompt strategies.
- Communicate complex prompt engineering concepts and findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- **Ethical AI & Safety**:

- Consider ethical implications and potential biases in prompt design, working to mitigate harmful or inappropriate model outputs.
- Contribute to the development of robust safety and alignment strategies for AI models.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- **Experience**:
