Singapore XCL World Academy Full time

XCL World Academy has 2 vacancies for Teacher Partner roles to assist the Foundational English Programme (FEP) for Secondary Years students Grades 6 to 9. This is a contract position starting from January 2025 to July 2026 and subsequent contracts are renewable for 2 years.

Main Responsibilities
- A Teacher Partner would directly work with students supporting the teachers on a daily basis with the educational program and lead classroom duties such as assisting Homeworks, organizing folders, notifying parents on updates of students and assisting students during activities and breaks.
- Able to support the students with reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Manages and interacts with children in a positive and supportive manner and would assist in execution of instructional plans by supporting children individually or in groups in the classroom.
- Build on student capabilities and differentiate to meet student needs.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with peers, showing respect, being prepared and on time, and always adhering to the school wide meeting norms and team essential agreements.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formative and summative assessments.
- Involve students in shared reflections during and at the end of each unit on a consistent basis.
- Evaluate the program collaboratively with teaching partners, parents and students as appropriate, using agreed flexible systems.

Person Specifications
- Minimum Advanced Certification/ Diploma in Early childhood courses or in relevant courses
- Registered with Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) would have an added advantage
- Excellent proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
- Preferably Certified in Child First Aid
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with children as a full time Homeroom Teacher Assistant would be preferred.
- Provides excellent customer service to parents, students, teachers and school leader
- Promote and market the school to relevant stakeholders appropriately
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, parents, students and the wider school community.
- Proficient in English and other languages such as Mandarin, Japanese or Korean would be preferred in order to be able to liaise with Chinese, Japanese and Korean speaking student and parents.
- This is a 2-year contract position and there are opportunities for the contract to be renewed.
