Graduate Software Engineer

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an aspiring Graduate Software Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team of seasoned developers. This role is perfectly tailored for recent graduates eager to embark on their professional journey within the technology sector.

As a Graduate Software Engineer you will get to work on all levels of the technology stack, from cloud infrastructure, backend microservices, through to frontend UI's and everything inbetween.

**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the analysis, design, and implementation of complex software solutions, focusing on customer-centric design and delivery via public cloud.- Assist in translating end-user needs into requirements, employing a lightweight agile design-led methodology.- Participate in design sessions and planning for user stories by breaking down complex requests into smaller tasks.-
- Collaborate with a team of software engineers under the guidance of senior team members, adopting an agile approach to software development.- Build trusting relationships with team members and colleagues, fostering collaboration.- Communicate effectively, learning to convey ideas with clarity and precision.- Begin to build domain expertise in Financial market content, Sustainability and LSEG systems through guided learning and practical experience.- Engage with the FinTech, big data, and academic community through participation in conferences, meetups, and workshops as an observer or learner, incorporating new techniques and technologies into your development.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Recent graduate with a Diploma / Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / or equivalent background.- Basic skills in software development, with exposure to NodeJS, Python, or other relevant programming languages through academic or personal projects or internships.- Familiarity with web servers, databases, and cloud-based services, preferably AWS or Azure, or comparable technologies through academic or personal projects.- Understanding of or exposure to containerised environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).- Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code concepts (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).- Interest in learning about developing and deploying microservices architectures.- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems and comfort with the CLI, as gained through coursework or personal exploration.- Exposure to front-end development frameworks (ReactJS, Vue, Angular, etc.).-
- Demonstrate adaptability and eagerness to tackle challenges in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills and time management.- Ability to work both independently with guidance and as part of a team.- A positive attitude toward learning new skills and technologies, with a keen interest in software development and a commitment to personal growth.- Participation in open-source projects, hackathons, or other technical extracurricular activities is a plus, demonstrating a passion for technology and self-driven learning.
