Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market, and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an** SVP, Wholesale Credit Risk.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Ensure day to day processing is achieved within SLAs and KPIs
- Initiate continuous improvements across all key areas of operations management, people, processes and systems
- Build, maintain then enhance the operations culture/operational excellence of the dept
- Deliver and implement the HSBC Wholesale Risk strategy across SGH Wholesale Business segments, as directed by SGH CRO
- Ensure that all employees with a delegated lending authority are fully aware of the Risk Policy and procedures and that decision making in SGH is consistent with group standards
- Ensure a high level of asset quality and prudent level of portfolio diversification with the objective of minimizing loan losses
- Ensure that SGH Wholesale Bank has a robust and effective forward looking Risk Identification strategy
- Ensure that the balance between risk and reward is carefully managed, by informed and effective decision making within SGH Risk
- Provide critical assessment of new wholesale products and services, ensuring they meet Group Risk principles and strategy as well as promote SGH’s quality growth plans within HSBC’s global strategy
- Ensure that all management and staff in SGH Wholesale Business segments minimize the risks of loss due to customer fraud and operational losses due to customer fraud and operational risk in relation to requests for credit facilities
- Maintain and promote high level of service standards to enhance customer experience and ultimately benefit HSBC reputation and performance
- Assist Head of WCR to implement appropriate succession and resource planning to ensure that SGH wholesale risk management skills are aligned with future business requirements
- Implement suitable training plans for direct reports to address under performance as well as supporting personal development needs and career aspirations
- Promote a culture of knowledge and best practice sharing between SGH Risk and internal customers, thereby ensuring that coaching and development needs are quickly identified and action plans can be implemented
- Ensure compliance with area and group’s lending guidelines, audit and regulatory requirements, and ensure that processes and procedures support HSBC Risk standards, resulting in high quality management of wholesale risk in SGH
- Ensure all annual reviews for wholesale banking relationships are completed within the month they fall due
- The operational effectiveness and performance of SGH Wholesale banking is dependent upon products, guidelines and procedures which support business growth and maintain the Group’s risk strategy and risk management principles

- Over 10 years of experience at a senior level in Corporate/Commercial Banking/Credit Risk Management
- Experiences in analysing corporate credit including quantitative analysis, credit approvals, undertaking risk identification on a customer and portfolio basis, conducting sector/industry reviews and risk management coaching
- A high degree of analytical skills and industry knowledge
- Ability to work within tight timescales commensurate to the competitive business environment
- Familiar with Country Risk Plan, Risk Strategy Statement, BIM Vol.3, and Credit FIM
