
Regional Commodity Manager

Act as metal mechanical commodities’ regional commodity manager for Asia region & global commodity lead for sheet metal commodity
- Analyze Supply and Supplier Market, macroeconomics in the industry
- Capture Agilent requirements & define Perfect Match supplier criteria
- Define the commodity strategy for sheet metal, and provide input to other metal cluster commodity leads
- Align commodity strategies with the needs of the local site worldwide.
- Define an action plan to support strategy execution to support Agilent initiatives
- Present commodity strategies and regular updates/reviews on deployment
- Define and guarantee commodities performance:
- Support Agilent revenue growth by ensuring a flexible & resilience supply chain ecosystem, adopting ESG & DEI, adherence towards regulation, trade & compliance, and value creation (quality, cost & delivery performance)
- Build, follow up and monitor the global as well as local procurement action plans
- Participate in the elaboration of the global and local procurement budgets plan of record & generating ideas and initiatives pipe to deliver 3% to 5% y-o-y cost reductions
- Optimize working capital needs, decrease the level of inventories & the administrative cost (number of PO and invoices)
- Manage supplier base:
- Consult, negotiate, select and contract the supplier on every need of the commodity, building a resilient yet flexible supply base
- Negotiate Confidential Disclosure Agreements and Supply Framework Purchase agreements, including but not limited to development and delivery lead-time, frozen/flexible/forecast delivery schedule, MOQ/MDQ quantity, VMI/VOI, Supplier payment terms, and Performance agreements.
- Optimize the supplier panel.
- Manage supplier QCD Performance. Optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement.
- Guarantee that every Purchase Order is placed in the negotiated contracts accordingly to the decision made
- Guarantee smooth delivery from a supplier and avoid material shortage or production disruption or quality issues
- Organize and drive the Sourcing committee for supplier business awards, organize and drive Supplier Governance Meetings in his/her region
- Support supply chain digitalization/automation & compliance initiatives working with cross-functional teams
- Support PSL, PCM, and CTM team to ensure optimized and resilience supply base
- Ensure compliance with Agilent's internal processes and external regulations.
- Risk Analysis:
- Conduct appropriate risk analysis; identify options and work to minimize risk from impacting business to create a resilient and optimized supply base
- Supplier Financial Commitment Reporting, overall accountability for reporting and representing data from suppliers.
- Address supply chain risk by enhancing coverage of addressable spending under long term contracts, justify buffer inventory planning
- Not only guarantee the best “Total Cost of Ownership” but also challenge internal organization/stakeholder appropriately:
- Participate VA/VE projects, standardization projects, design rules definitions, VSM workshops
- Participate proactively in make-or-buy and outsourcing decisions. Implement the local & corporate industrial strategies: give inputs to the make-or-buy processes
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelors or Masters's Degree with 7-10 years of Procurement experience - preferably with experience in sourcing direct material especially with mechanical parts.
- Knowledge of leading-edge procurement practices, commodity strategies, terms and negotiation concepts, and business law.
- Financial and analytical skills/tools to determine the total cost, and evaluate suppliers (statistics, cost accounting, computer spreadsheets, flow charting, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results from general objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to represent Agilent Strategic Procurement to suppliers and relate to peers/ managers/internal partners.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively manage projects.
- Analytically data and fact driven to challenge the status quo.
- Grit and persistence are necessary to execute & implement commodity strategies.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system.
