**Senior Microgrid Product & Application Engineer**

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Microgrid Product & Application Engineer to lead and support the development, integration, and deployment of Univers’ edge-based microgrid controller solutions.

This role combines hands-on product development with technical leadership across deployment projects, focusing on edge computing, industrial protocol integration, and real-time control in distributed energy systems (e.g., solar, wind, BESS, EV charging).

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Development & Engineering Ownership**
- Lead the design, development, and testing of edge microgrid controllers and industrial energy IoT devices (e.g., WindBox, LiftBox, BESS controller).
- Drive firmware architecture, embedded system integration, and real-time control logic for field-deployable energy automation products.
- Collaborate with product managers to define technical specifications and translate customer/field needs into product features and long-term roadmaps.
- Support continuous performance improvement, hardware-software compatibility, and edge-to-cloud integration via Univers EnOS platform.

**Deployment & Application Support**
- Act as technical lead for global project deployments (China, Japan, Europe, APAC), working closely with project managers, system integrators, and local teams.
- Provide on-site and remote support for commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation, including protocol mapping (Modbus, CAN, IEC104, OCPP, MQTT, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with electrical interface requirements, industrial safety standards, and system interconnection best practices.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Partner with R&D, solution architects, and commercial teams to deliver end-to-end engineering solutions from lab to field.
- Lead the technical evaluation of new component vendors and assess feasibility of integrating new DER technologies (e.g., EV chargers, heat pumps).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal documentation and best practices for product development and system deployment.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Embedded Systems, or related disciplines.
- 8+ years of professional experience in embedded product development, microgrid systems, energy controllers, or industrial IoT.
- Solid experience with embedded C/C++, Python, Linux-based systems, and real-time edge software development.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, IEC104, OCPP) and hands-on experience with device integration.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy systems, including solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and energy flow optimization.
- Proven ability to work across product lifecycle from design through deployment and field troubleshooting.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience leading multi-regional or cross-product deployments in industrial/energy sectors.
- Familiarity with SCADA, IoT Edge, or other energy management platforms.
- Exposure to cybersecurity architecture, especially the Purdue Model or industrial DMZ design.
