The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for developing all aspects of the mechanical design and packaging of selected products. Involvement at all stages of product development from concept to product maturity including sustaining engineering will be required. You will also design and complete documentation of products including writing ECOs and supporting manufacturing.

**Essential Duties**:

- Develops mechanical packages and concepts independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Works closely with product teams on all aspects of product development including scheduling, designing, ordering, and building units.
- Produces efficient, cost effective part and assembly designs.
- Produces fully dimensioned and toleranced drawings to AE and ASME Y-14.5 standards.
- Efficiently and effectively designs sheet metal parts and assemblies as well as machined and injection molded parts and assemblies
- Ability to machine parts and knowledge of machining processes to make manufacturable parts.
- Hand-on assistance in assembly and evaluation of initial prototypes.

**Skills**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate designs in design reviews
- Knowledge of ASME Y-14.5 (ANSI Y-14.5) standards.
- Ability to handle moderately complex engineering assignments.
- Ability to work independently in the mechanical design of components that house electrical components

**Experience**:
**Required**:

- 4+ years 3-D solid modeling and drafting experience in SolidWorks
- Knowledge of PDM systems
- 4+ years new product design experience
- Experience leading the mechanical design of products in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with design for manufacturability principals.
- Sheet metal and machined parts design
- Knowledge of machining and sheet metal process to produce manufacturable designs

**Desired**:

- Experience designing electrical / electronic products, especially high frequency and / or high power products.
- Experience designing products with respect to electronics cooling of multiple kW dissipation
- Experience designing ceramic components, understand of ceramic pressing and grinding processes

**Education**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
