Part-Time Lecturer for Photography: DP3003 Socially Engaged Photography

This course introduces students to a spectrum of approaches in socially engaged photography which emphasise the process of building relationships with communities or individuals. These projects explore the potentials and limitations of photography as a tool for building connection and social change. Students will have the opportunity to develop photography projects which respond to questions around collaboration, participation, documentation, authorship, care and responsibility. One of the key aims of this course is for the students to reimagine the role of photography today and learn diverse methods of engaging meaningfully with contemporary society through lens-based media.
