**Job Purpose**

The Senior Manager of External Communications will play an essential role in establishing and building an effective dialogue with all media outlets across the region. The role is focused on protecting and enhancing the DP World brand and reputation internally and externally, through media relations.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Strategy _

To develop and maintain an integrated regional external comms strategy including:

- Profiles of audience segments including B2B and B2C
- Proactive crafting of corporate storylines and thought leadership themes
- A KPI based approach to promoting the DP World brand, building trust and protecting our reputation.
- Planning _

To develop and maintain a external comms programme, based on:

- High-quality media content including but not limited to speeches, news releases, fact sheets, blogs and opinion pieces
- Monitoring of the media marketplace ensuring we stay ahead of the curve
- Selection of appropriate activities, platforms, and tools
- Timelines and budget adherence
- Implementation _

To drive the effective and cost-efficient execution of the plan through:

- Liaison with senior management and the global comms team
- Dedicated in-house resources (at the global level) for creation and production
- Coordination with colleagues on the ground and throughout the DP World organisation to ensure materials accurately reflect the company’s positioning, messaging and ‘breaking’ news
- Lead media training/capability for the region
- Measurement _

To establish and manage an internal dashboard of measurements which:

- Monitors performance against targets/KPIs on key objectives
- Tracks progress against overall cut through and sentiment
- Enables evaluation of the ROI/efficacy of programmes
- Tactical Responsiveness _

To maintain the ability to respond to unplanned changes, including:

- Short-term opportunities or changes of position
- Unforeseen internal/external events or competitive initiatives
- Crisis management and readiness planning
- Continuous Improvement _

To encourage and nurture a culture of innovation designed to:

- Test and validate new approaches to two-way communication with media
- Highlight best practices and innovative solutions
- Compliance _

To constantly adhere to and actively promote behaviours which reflect the Brand Purpose while specifically:

- Maintaining the highest levels of Safety standards
- Complying with our Principles, Code of Conduct and Ethical policies
- Meeting all agreed standards for DP World Brand and Visual Identity

Acting as an ambassador for DP World at all times.
