[What the role is]

Based at the Singapore Botanic Gardens (Research & Conservation branch), you will work closely with the Senior Researcher to curate and manage research living collections in the nursery and cool-houses (approx. 30% of the time).

You will also work with the Herbarium Manager to assist with the day to day running of the herbarium (approx. 70% of the time).

[What you will be working on]

Your duties in the research living collections in the nursery and cool-houses will involve providing planting materials to SBG Living collections, propagating specific accessions of rarer species, and updating the plant database

In the herbarium you will database, arrange, move and mount specimens, and assist with herbarium specimens digitisation. You are expected to work independently and be able to grow and propagate plants, update databases (excel and Brahms).

[What we are looking for]
- Diploma in Horticulture or Life/Environmental Sciences
- Ability to work outdoors on a daily basis; previous experience in plant nursery.
- Meticulous in dealing with scientific data as well as database/information management.
- Competent in using the Microsoft Office suite and Brahms.
- Good communication skills.
