[What the role is]
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation team under the Wildlife Management Division. With a focus on wildlife centre operations management, the job will range from logístical and administrative support to rehabilitation and supportive care of wildlife.
[What you will be working on]
You will be involved in the following duties:
- Assist with daily centre administrative operations, including maintaining of animal records and data analysis, using computer systems where necessary.
- Plan and provide enrichment activities for wildlife patients, including but not limited to creating enrichment devices and enclosure refurbishment.
- Provide supportive care of wildlife, such as treatment and handfeeding, on a shift-work basis.
[What we are looking for]
- Diploma in Veterinary Technology / Veterinary Bioscience or any other relevant discipline
- Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant working experience working in an animal-related organization
- Competent in Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel.
- Competent in the care of juvenile animals, particularly birds and mammals.
- Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment
- Able to work after office hours on weekends and/or public holidays based on ad hoc requirements
- Positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills
